Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Alluvial placer Au (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 39a).
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Some small-scale placer gold mining took place in about 1905 on lower Hazel Creek where it enters the valley of Flambeau River (Moffit, 1913, p. 101). The eastward extension of the Anvil Creek fault is projected through Hazel Creek near this location (Hummel, 1962 [MF 247]).
