Comment (Location): USGS MF-467, LOC. 52 IS VERY INACCURATE. LOCATION HAS BEEN PLACED AT END OF ROAD (PROBABLY OLD RAILROAD BED) ON RODMAN CREEK, NEAR LOC. 115 A ON USBM OFR 20-73 CLAIM MAP OVERLAY. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).

Comment (Development): 2 CLAIMS STAKED IN AREA IN 1902. CROSSCUT DRIVEN, MILL, POWER PLANT, AND RAILROAD BUILT, BUT MINE NEVER PRODUCED AND WAS CLOSED IN 1904, WITH MOST EQUIPMENT SOLD.

Comment (Deposit): KNOPF, 1912 (USGS B 504) STATES "A REMARKABLE MINING FAILURE". SOME INVESTORS REALLY LOST THEIR SHIRT ON THIS ONE! ORE TOO LOW GRADE TO BE PROFITABLE MINING. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT

Comment (Deposit): THIS SITE NAME WAS CREATED BY THE REPORTER OR OTHER USGS EMPLOYEE BASED ON PROXIMITY TO SOME MAJOR GEOGRAPHIC FEATURE.

Comment (Deposit): MINERALIZED BELT OF WRINKLED SLATE SEVERAL HUNDRED FT. WIDE CONTAINING INTERLACED STRINGERS OF QUARTZ AND CALCITE ACCOMPANIED BY SULFIDES CARRYING GOLD. IRREGULAR FISSURES WITH QUARTZ FOUND IN TUNNEL.

Comment (Workings): EXTENSIVE SURFACE DEVELOPMENTS, 800 FT. CROSSCUT TUNNEL, 120 STAMP MILL, SMALL POWER PLANT, NARROW GAUGE RAILROAD 7 MI. LONG FROM MILL TO WHARF ON RODMAN BAY.

Comment (Geology): SLATE INTRUDED BY DIABASE DIKES IN VICINITY OF ORE BODY. GRANODIORITE BELT INTRUDED A FEW MILES DISTANT.
