Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = A 50-foot-deep prospecting shaft was dug in frozen ground at this locality.
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Placer Au-PGE (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 39a).
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Maddren (1915) reported that fine gold was found in a 50-foot prospect shaft that was dug in frozen ground on this part of the Tuluksak River. This prospect is on the lower part of the river, where the gradient decreases and it enters onto the lowlands of the lower Kuskokwim River. The low elevation and proximity to the Kuskokwim River lowlands suggests that Quaternary sea level fluctuations could have influenced placer development on the lower Tuluksak River.
