Comment (Development): DISCOVERED IN 1913, MINING 1914-16, INTERMITTENTLY TO 1938. MOST MINING DONE AT MOUTH OF DISAPPOINTMENT CREEK, LITTLE DONE ON WILSON CREEK ITSELF. DEEP GRAVELS NOT MINED ON WILSON CREEK.
Comment (Deposit): GOLD IRREGULARLY DISTRIBUTED IN LOWER STRATUM OF GRAVELS. GRAVEL DEPOSITS DEEPER THAN THOSE ON DISAPPOINTMENT CREEK, BUT NOT MINED. GRAVEL COMPOSED OF SMALL, WELL ROUNDED PEBBLES TO 8 IN. DIAMETER COBBLES.
Comment (Workings): NATURE OF WORKINGS NOT DEFINED
Comment (Geology): AREA APPARENTLY NOT GLACIATED. ; MAJOR.UNITS: BEDROCK IS MESOZOIC-PALEOZOIC SLATE AND CONGLOMERATE OF GEMUCK GROUP, WITH TERTIARY GRANITIC PLUTONS NEARBY. ; REG.COM: SOURCE OF PLACER GOLD IS PROBABLY GRANITIC PLUTONS AT HEADS OF TRIBUTARY STREAMS. PLATINUM PROBABLY DERIVED FROM GREENSTONE.
Comment (Deposit): STREAM GRADIENT ABOUT 60 FT/MI. APPARENTLY, MOST MINING OCCURRED ON DISAPPOINTMENT CREEK, AS DEEP GRAVELS OF WILSON CREEK WERE NOT MINED. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
