Comment (Development): OPEN CUT MINING 1914-1917. MINED BY DREDGE 1918-1926. LATER MINED OFF AND ON BY OPEN CUT.

Comment (Deposit): BENCH AND STREAM PLACER GOLD WITH MUCH CINNABAR OCCUR AT GRAVEL BASE, ON BEDROCK AND WITHIN QUARTZ MONZONITE BEDROCK. NUGGETS UP TO 2 OUNCES FOUND.

Comment (Geology): A SMALL QUARTZ MONZONITE PLUTON OF L CRET.-E TER AGE INTRUDED CRET. SHALE AND SANDSTONE. ; MAJOR.UNITS: BEDROCK AT CREEK HEAD IS BASALT. BEDROCK DOWNSTREAM IS QUARTZ MONZONITE. ; REG.COM: ORE DERIVED FROM SMALL QUARTZ VEINS IN THE QUARTZ MONZONITE AND THE MINERALIZED COUNTRY ROCK ADJACENT TO THE QUARTZ MONZONITE.
