Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Location): USGS MF-393, LOC. 3. PROSPECT BETWEEN BONANZA AND EASTER CREEK ABOUT 1 MILE FROM SEVENTYMILE RIVER. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).
Comment (Deposit): MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN A 60 FT. WIDE LIMONITE-STAINED CONTACT ZONE BETWEEN SERPENTINE AND A FINE GRAINED MAFIC INTRUSIVE ROCK. QUARTZ AND CALCITE VEINLETS CUT BOTH THE SERPENTINITE AND THE INTRUSIVE ROCK. GOLD IN SILICA-CARBONATE ROCK.
Comment (Geology): QUARTZ VEINS AND SILICA CARBONATE ROCK ASSOCIATED WITH SERPENTINIZED ULTRAMAFIC BODIES. THE ULTRAMAFICS OUTCROP ALONG A FAULT ZONE AND ARE DISCONTINUOUS. RECONNAISSANCE SAMPLING ALONG THE FAULT ZONE TO THE SE DOES NOT INDICATE A CONTINUATION OF MINERALIZATION.
Comment (Deposit): THIS SITE NAME WAS CREATED BY THE REPORTER OR OTHER USGS EMPLOYEE BASED ON PROXIMITY TO SOME MAJOR GEOGRAPHIC FEATURE.
