Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Deposit): GOLD CONCENTRATED ON BARS DOWNSTREAM FROM GOLD-BEARING TRIBUTARIES, THAT IS, FRANKLIN CREEK, FLAT CREEK, NUGGET CREEK ETC., WHERE CLEAVAGE IS TRANSVERSE TO RIVER COURSE, FORMING NATURAL RIFFLES ON BARS WHERE GOLD IS DEPOSITED. MANY BARS OFTEN REMINED AFTER FLOODING ADDED NEW GOLD. SOME BENCHES NEAR CREEK MOUTHS ARE AURIFEROUS. SOME BARS HAVE VERY LITTLE GRAVEL, WHILE SOME HAVE GRAVEL AS MUCH AS 25 FT. THICK.
Comment (Geology): MAJOR.UNITS: BEDROCK IS MAINLY SCHIST AND INTERBEDDED CRYSTALINE LIMESTONE; GENERALLY STRIKES TRANSVERSE TO RIVER AND DIPS NEARLY VERTICALLY.
