Comments

Comment (Deposit): PSILOMELANE IN LOOSE QUARTZITE RUBBLE AND FROST BALLS IN AN AREA ABOUT 3,000 FT. BY 600 FT.. PSILOMELANE, OF POSSIBLE HYDROTHERMAL ORAGIN, OCCURS AS IRREGULAR MASSES 2-3 IN. IN LARGEST DIMENSION, AS LATTICEWORKS OF THIN SEAMS IN VEIN QUARTZ, AND AS THIN SURFACE COATINGS ON RUBBLE.

Comment (Workings): WORKINGS CAVED IN.

Comment (Geology): THE PREDOMINANCE OF QUARTZITE APPEARS TO BE ROCK IN PLACE, BUT INTENSE FRAGMENTATION SHOWS PROBABLE DISLOCATION BY FROST ACTION.

Comment (Location): USGS MF-371-LOC. 7. PROSPECT ALONG CREST OF RIDGE BETWEEN GRANITE AND ROCK CREEKS, ABOUT 5 MILES SW OF BALDRY MTN. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).

Comment (Development): EXPLORED BY A TRENCH 40 FT. LONG, 3 FT. WIDE, AND 2 FT. DEEP, 2 PITS, AND SOME SURFACE SCRAPINGS. PROSPECT SAMPLED BY THE U.S.B.M IN 1962 AND 1963.
