Comment (Deposit): GOLD IN LARGE BODY OF LOW GRADE GRAVEL ON BROAD NORTH WALL BENCH. PLACERS EXTEND FOR SEVERAL MILES ABOUT 1,000 FT. NORTH OF CREEK. ALLUVIUM 8-12 FT. DEEP.
Comment (Geology): ASYMMETRICAL VALLEY WITH A BROAD BENCH IN GENTLER NORTH WALL. SOUTH VALLEY WALL STEEP; NO GRAVEL. ZIRCON AND MONAZITE ARE RADIOACTIVE. ; MAJOR.UNITS: STREAM HEADS IN CRETACEOUS (90 M.Y.) QUARTZ MONZONITE OF ROUGHTOP MTN. PLUTON AND DEVONIAN OR PERMIAN METASEDIMENTARY ROCKS. MOST OF STREAM IN AREA UNDERLAIN BY JURASIC-CRETACEOUS SANDSTONE, SHALE, SILTSTONE, AND ARGILLITE.
