Comments

Comment (Deposit): GEOPHYSICAL EXPLORATION INDICATED "A CONTINUOUS VEIN STRUCTURE FOR OVER 3,000 FT." ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT

Comment (Location): USGS MF-410, LOC. 32. DEPOSIT STRIKES WSW-ENE ACCROSS THE SUMMIT OF GILMORE DOME. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).

Comment (Development): LOCATED, 1941. PROSPECTING 1941-42. IN 1943 THE USBM EXPLORED A 2,000 FT. SECTION OF MINERALIZED BELT BY EXCAVATING 20 BULLDOZER TRENCHES AND 35 HAND-DUG PITS. EXPLORED ALSO BY GEOPHYSICAL METHODS. PROPERTY COMPRISES 14 UNPATENTED CLAIMS.

Comment (Deposit): CALCAREOUS LAYERS (AND PROBABLY A LITTLE LIMESTONE) IN QUARTZ MICA SCHIST REPLACED BY SCHEELITE ORE. SCHEELITE ABUNDANT IN 3 ORE SHOOTS AND IN WIDELY SPACED SMALL (LESS THAN 1 FT.) POCKETS; SCATTERED GRAINS ALSO. SCHEELITE MINERALIZATION GENERALLY PARALLELS SCHISTOSITY; SMALL AMOUNTS OF SCHEELITE IN GRANITE. LODE TRACED (BY TRENCHING) FOR 2,000 FT. ON SURFACE; PINCHED OUT IN SOME PLACES; 50 FT. WIDE IN ONE TRENCH. SCHEELITE LENSES ARE .5 TO 1.2 FT. THICK AND FROM A FEW TO 100 FT. LONG. QUARTZ VEINLETS AND THIN FRACTURES THAT CARRY SCHEELITE ARE IN ORE ZONE, COMMONLY PARALLEL TO MAIN REPLACEMENT ZONE.

Comment (Geology): QUARTZ-MICA SCHIST COUNTRY ROCK STRIKES N 70 E AND DIPS 35 N. LODE .4 MI N OF MAIN MASS OF PORPHYRITIC GRANITE AND .8 MI. S OF AN OUTLYING CUPOLA.
