Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Deposit): MOST OF GOLD IN BENCH PLACER IN LOWER MILE OF CREEK; WELL-DEFINED WORKABLE BENCH 150 FT. ABOVE CREEK ON THE NORTH SIDE. ABOVE THIS BENCH, AT AN ELEVATION OF ABOUT 400 FT. ABOVE THE CREEK, AN OLD CHANNEL ON THE SPUR BETWEEN THE MAIN BRANCH AND THE SOUTH FORK OF QUAIL CREEK SHOWS COLORS. SOME GOLD ALSO IN STREAM PLACER; PAYSTREAK SAID TO BE ABOUT 300 FT. WIDE AND GRAVEL ABOUT 5 FEET THICK. DIKES CUTTING BEDROCK CARRY SULFIDES. SOME OF GOLD IN CREEK MAY HAVE BEEN RECONCENTRATED FROM BENCH PLACER.
