Comment (Development): INTERMITTANT MINING FROM 1915 TO AT LEAST 1977. CLAIMS NEAR HEAD WORKED BY OPEN-CUT AND CLAIMS NEAR MOUTH WORKED BY DRIFTING. MINED IN 1975 BY NON-FLOAT METHODS AND BULLDOZER.
Comment (Deposit): GOLD OCCURS IN ALL THE GRAVELS AND THE TOP FOOT OF BEDROCK IN BOTH BENCH AND STREAM PLACERS. GOLD IN GRAVEL FROM 18 INCHES TO 15 FEET THICK. MOST OF PAY IN BENCH PLACERS; PAYSTREAK ON ONE CLAIM AT LEAST 168 FT. WIDE.
Comment (Location): USGS MF-413, LOC. 66. PLACER GROUND FROM HEAD TO MOUTH OF LILLIAN CREEK, A TRIBUTARY OF LIVENGOOD CR. COORDINATES GIVEN FOR CENTER OF PLACER GROUND NEAR HEAD. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).
Comment (Geology): BEDROCK SURFACE BENEATH BENCHES IS IRREGULAR AND SLOPES STEEPLY TOWARDS THE CREEK. LILLIAN CREEK IS A SHORT, STEEPLY SLOPING STREAM; ITS VALLEY IS FILLED WITH COARSE GRAVEL AND SLIDE ROCK. ; MAJOR.UNITS: BEDROCK IS CHIEFLY SANDSTONE AND SHALE, WITH SOME SLATE, AND IS COMMONLY MINERALIZED WITH PYRITE.
