Comment (Location): USGS MF-413, LOC. 74. DEPOSIT THOUGHT TO BE SOMEWHERE IN LOWER MILE OF STEEL CREEK. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).

Comment (Deposit): CONSIDERABLE WOLFRAMITE IN SAMPLE OF PLACER CONCENTRATE. SOME PLACER GOLD PROBABLY PRESENT ALSO, AS IT OCCURS IN A SIMILAR GEOLOGIC SETTING IN THE NEXT SMALL CREEK TO THE EAST.

Comment (Geology): MAJOR.UNITS: BEDROCK IN AREA IS CRETACEOUS GRAYWACKE AND SHALE, HORNFELSIC NEAR THE SMALL FELSIC DIKES THAT ARE POORLY EXPOSED ON HILLS JUST WEST OF THE HEAD OF THE CREEK.
