The Itkillik Creek is a copper mine located in Alaska.
About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = None
Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Brosge' and Reiser, 1976
Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = U.S. Bureau of Mines Open-File Report 63-78, p. 21 was listed as a reference to this occurrence by was not recovered by Kelley in the latest review.
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Chalcopyrite is present in phyllite interbedded with chert and volcanic rocks. Rocks are reported to be in the "cambrian-ordovician(?) neruokpuk(?) fm.".?? This occurrence is unlikely to be "Neruokpuk" as the term is currently used. Sandstone, not volcanic rock, is the dominant rock type of the "Neruokpuk Schist of Leffingwell (1919)" as mapped and used by Reiser and others ( 1980) and Lane and others (1995).
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Cu in shale
Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
