Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Geochemical sampling, 1975.

Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Unpublished 1975 Noranda report

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = This deposit consists of chalcopyrite, galena, and sphalerite hosted in quartz-muscovite-chlorite schist; massive greenstone; intercalated phyllite, limestone, and quartz-muscovite schist; and calcareous schist. The ore minerals and host rocks lie on the south limb of the Kalurivik Arch. Protoliths for the host rocks are interpreted to be Devonian volcanic flows and tuffs intercalated with clastic and chemical sedimentary rocks (unpublished Noranda Report, 1975)

Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Kuroko

Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive

Comment (Geology): Age = Devonian
