Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Podiform chromite (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 8a).

Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = Site is located within Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge.

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = At this chromite occurrence, one of several in the Halibut Bay ultramafic complex, massive chromite segregations occur in dunite rubblecrop near a small shear zone. Because of lack of exposure no other data are available.? the Halibut Bay ultramafic complex, consisting mostly of dunite, gabbro, pyroxenite, and periodite, occurs within sedimentary units of the Uyak formation of Cretaceous age.
