Semiquantitative spectroscopy: >10% Fe and Si; 1 to 10% Al, Ca, Mg, and Ti; 0.01 to 0.`% Co, Cr, Mn, Ni, Pb, and V; and 0.001 to 0.01% Cu, Ga, Sc, and Zr. Character sample from body near Lake Creek (5 mi. N of Fox Park, CO) contained 55.6% Fe, 11.0% TiO2, 0.001% p, 0.01% S, and 2.0% SiO2.

Comment (Geology): Dimensions of ore body from Harrer, 1966, p. 15: 1 mile by 1/2 mile. Former record 10278921 (MAS 0560010037) gave dimensions as 57 HA, 1584 M long X 396 m wide and thickness of 200 m.
Comment (General): Lake Owen anorthosite complex covers a large area--most of 2 Townships. This record includes the 3 areas within it that are described in Harrer, 1966 (p. 15) and even more generalized in Wilson's Bull. 50, p. 108.
