Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Location): NEAR THE MOUTH OF THE FIRST CANYON NORTH OF BLOODY RUN PEAK ON THE WEST SLOPE OF THE BLOODY RUN HILLS. POOR ROADS ARE EAST OF THE VALLEY.

Comment (Development): RELOCATED BY PASCH IN 1942, MINED FROM TWO INCLINES SUNK BY HAND ABOUT 30 FEET DEEP ON QUARTZ VEINS IN GRANODIORITE, ALONG AND NEAR THE CONTACT WITH LIMESTONE. 26 TONS OF ORE WERE SHIPPED TO THE METALS RESERVE CO.

Comment (Deposit): SCHEELITE IS IRREGULARLY DISTRIBUTED IN THE QUARTZ VEINS AND AVERAGE ABOUT 3 FEET WIDE. TUNGSTEN CONTENT IS .3 TO 13 % WO3.; MODEL NAME COULD ALSO BE: W SKARN.

Comment (Workings): IN 1985, THERE WERE 2 SHALLOW INCLINES AND MINOR PROSPECTS, WITH NO ROAD TO WORKINGS.

Comment (Deposit): TWO UNPATENTED CLAIMS OWNED BY R. WINKLER IN 1937, AT WHICH TIME DEVELOPMENT CONSISTED OF A 30-FOOT INCLINED SHAFT, 2 ADITS, AND SEVERAL OPEN CUTS. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV

Comment (Geology): SCHEELITE OCCURS WITH MOLYBDENITE IN THE VEINS WHICH CUT GRANODIORITE ALONG AND NEAR CONTACT WITH LIMESTONE.

Comment (Deposit): MERGED WITH M232707 AND M030030, WHICH HAVE BEEN DELETED.
