Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Deposit): ONE LARGE BEDDING VEIN AND 3 SMALL BEDDING VEINS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH SILICIFIED AREAS BORDERING THE DIKES. THE VEINS ARE PARALLEL TO THE LIMESTONE BEDDING. SCHEELITE OCCURS IN THESE THIN (UP TO 1 FT) QUARTZ VEINS ALONG WITH A LITTLE COLORLESS-BERYL, IRREGULARLY DISTRIB-UTED THROUGHOUT THE VEIN. AVERAGE TUNGSTEN CONTENT IS ABOUT 0.-5 % WO3. A SECOND VEIN 300 FT SOUTH AND 100 FT LOWER ON THE HI-LLSIDE IS 6 INCHES WIDE AND CONTAINS ABOUT 0.5 % WO3. A LOWER -CROSSCUT ADIT CUT SEVERAL QUARTZ VEINLETS 1-6 IN WIDE WHICH CO-NTAINED SCHEELITE. IN GENERAL, VEINS CONTAIN MINOR SERICITE, T-RACE OF DARK GREY SULFIDE AND SOME CALCITE. LIMESTONE NEAR VEI-NS IS PARTIALLY BLEACHED, PYRITIZED, AND RECRYSTALLIZED ALONG -BEDDING, AND NOW IRON-STAINED DUE TO OXIDATION OF PYRITE.

Comment (Development): IN 1942, THE PROPERTY WAS EXPLORED BY FRED JOHNSON, BUT NO PRODUCTION WAS REPORTED. THERE WAS NO ACTIVITY WHEN EXA-MINED IN 1984 AND THE PROPERTY APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN LONG IDLE-, BUT J. K. CLAIMS WERE STAKED OVER THE AREA 3-5 YEARS AGO.

Comment (Location): ABOUT A MILE BELOW THE BRADLEY MINE; PREVIOUS QUAD DESIGNATION = UNIONVILLE (1954) 1:625000

Comment (Deposit): FOUR CLAIMS COVERING THE KNOWN OCCURRENCE OF ORE ARE SITUATED ON THE RIDGE JUST NORTH OF PANTHER CANYON-CONSTITUTING THE PANTHER CANYON PROSPECT. ONE LARGE BEDDING VEIN AND THREE SMALL BEDDING VEINS HAVE BEEN EXPOSED IN TRENCH WORKINGS. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV

Comment (Workings): TRENCH; 4 ADITS; 75-FT DEEP INCLINED SHAFT. CROSSCUT ADIT 350 FT LONG WAS DRIVEN FROM A POINT LOWER ON THE HILL TO- EXPLORE THE VEINS AT DEPTH

Comment (Geology): THE QUARTZ-TUNGSTEN VEINS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH SILICIFIED AREAS BORDERING THE DIKES. THE VEINS ARE PARALLEL TO THE LIMESTONE BEDDING.
