MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1830'S
Comment (Deposit): THE REPLACED BEDS ARE IN THE UPPER PART OF THE MADERA LIMESTONE IN GARNET TACTITE. THE TACTITE LIES DIRECTLY BELOW A RHYOLITE PORPHYRY SILL. THE TOP OF A MONZONITE PORPHYRY LACCOLITH IS ABOUT 200 TO 300 FEET BELOW THE RHYOLITE PORPHYRY SILL, BUT THE ROCKS DIRECTLY ABOVE THE LACCOLITH AND BELOW THE TACTITE SHOW ONLY SLIGHT THERMAL METAMORPHISM AND NO METASOMATISM. THE ORE BODY IS LOCALIZED BY THE "MARBLE LINE" AT THE SOUTHEASTERN PERIMETER OF THE TACTITE ZONE. MOST ORE IRREGULARLY REPLACES A GROUP OF MARBELIZED BEDS 50 TO 100 FEET THICK, THE TOP OF WHICH LIES AN AVERAGE OF 20 FEET BELOW THE RHYOLITE SILL. A CONSPICUOUS EAST-TRENDING MONZONITE PORPHYRY DIKE 1000 FEET NORTH OF THE SAN PEDRO MINE PROBABLY CARRIED THE METASOMATIZING FLUIDS INTO THE AREA. THERE WERE TWO STAGES OF MINERALIZATION.
Comment (Workings): THERE ARE SEVERAL MILES OF WORKINGS IN THE SAN PEDRO. THE RICHMAN SHAFT IS THE MAJOR SHAFT. THE RICHMAN SHAFT IS 300 FEET DEEP AND HAS TWO COMPARTMENTS. THE MAIN ADIT IS 1600 FEET LONG. ALL STOPES ARE WITHIN 200 FEET OF THE MARBLE LINE. THE MINE IS DRY EXCEPT FOR THE EXTREME EASTERN END.
Comment (Deposit): IN OLD COPPER MINES. NO WO3 PRODUCTION
Comment (Location): LOCATION IS ACCURATE FOR THE ADIT SHOWN ON THE SAN PEDRO QUADRANGLE. THERE IS NO UTM GRID IN THIS AREA. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1979)
Comment (Production): THERE ARE NO ACCURATE PRODUCTION RECORDS PRIOR TO 1904. PRODUCTION RECORDS FOR 1942 TO 1982 ARE CONFIDENTIAL
