Comments
Comment (Commodity): ANALYTICAL DATA FROM NMBMMR GENERAL FILE DATA.
Comment (Location): GEODETIC AND UTM LOCATIONS ARE FOR THE SHAFT SHOWN ON THE PUERTECITO GAP TOPOGRAPHIC QUADRANGLE.
Comment (Production): IN 1942 BETWEEN 6 AND 8 TONS OF SORTED ORE CONTAINING MORE THAN 40 % MN WAS MINED.
Comment (Deposit): DEPOSITS OCCUR AS SMALL PODS AND NARROW VEINLETS RANGING FROM 1 IN. TO 3 IN. THICK IN A VEIN ABOUT 3 FT. THICK. THE VEIN STRIKES NORTHEAST ALONG A WELL-DEVELOPED FAULT AND CONTAINS SHEARED AND BRECCIATED VOLCANIC ROCKS. A 40 ACRE TRACT COVERING THE PROSPECT WAS LEASED TO THE LAST OPERATOR.
Comment (Workings): WORKINGS REPORTED IN 1961 CONSISTED OF A 35 FT. VERTICAL SHAFT AND MANY SHALLOW OPENCUTS AND PROSPECT PITS.
Comment (Geology): FOR REGIONAL GEOLOGY SEE MAGDALENA MOUNTAINS AREA.
