Comments
Comment (Development): EARLY WORKS FOR GOLD (1908 AND LATER); 1936 A PORTION OF THE PROPERTY WAS LEASED TO W.B. WORLOCK WHO MADE TWO SMALL SHIPMENTS.
Comment (Deposit): MAIN QUARTZ VEIN VARIES FROM 3 TO 10 FT. THICK, BUT THE ALUNITE IS FOUND IN SHEETS SEPARATING THE VEIN FROM THE WALL ROCK. THESE SHEETS ARE 3 INCHES TO 1 FT. WIDE. SIZE/DIRECTIONAL DATA GIVEN IS FOR ALUNITE DEPOSIT ONLY. VEIN EMPLACED ALONG NW-TRENDING FAULT.
Comment (Workings): PROPERTY DEVELOPED BY A 250 FT. SHAFT, A TUNNEL, AND SEVERAL THOUSAND FT. OF WORKINGS. SHAFT HAS LEVELS AT 50 (TUNNEL), 130, 200, AND 250 FT.
Comment (Geology): THIN ALUNITE VEIN REPLACES GOUGE (?) IN SERICITIZED RHYOLITIC TUFF. QUARTZ VEINS 3-8 FT. WIDE, MILKY AND VUGGY AS WELL AS BRECCIATED. SEPARATED FROM WALLS OF POST ESMERALDA(?) VOLCANIC ROCKS BY ALUNITE SHEETS 3-12 INCHES THICK.
Comment (Deposit): SEE RECORD M233181, GOLDEN PEN GOLD MINE, FOR INFORMATION ON GOLD DEPOSIT AT THIS SITE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
Comment (Production): NO PROD OF ALUNITE BUT SOME GOLD AND SILVER PROD. SCHRADER ( 1914 ) REPORTS CONSIDERABLE PRODUCTION OF RICH GOLD ORE.
Comment (Reserve-Resource): INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR RESERVE EST
Comment (Reserve-Resource): MAIN RESOURCE IN THIN VEINS ONLY; POTENTIAL IS POOR
Comment (Location): OLD BOVARD DIST. IN GABBS VALLEY RANGE. SECTION LINES UNSURVEYED. SECTION INFERRED BY LINE EXTENSION.
Comment (Commodity): PROJECT 9350 - 01393 ALUNITE RESOURCES; AU TO AG RATIO 1:1
