Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Pan concentrates contain 50 to 60 percent magnetite, less than 1 percent scheelite, about 1 percent pyrite, a few grains of ilmenite, and 1 grain of cinnabar (Jasper, 1967).

Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Jasper, 1967

Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = It appears that McRoberts Creek has also been referred to as Bodenburg Creek and Palmer Creek on various maps.

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Jasper (1967) reported creek float consisting of granite, greenstone and ultramafic rocks. Concentrates include: magnetite, scheelite, pyrite, ilmenite, and a trace of cinnabar.

Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
