FIELD STUDIES MAP MF-1039; 1:24000 QUADRANGLE MAP IS A 1963 EDITION; THE BLUEBIRD MINE CAN BE REACHED BY TRAVELING 25.1 MILES SOUTH FROM SILVER CITY ON NM 180, 1.5 MILES EAST ON THE C-BAR RANCH ROAD, AND 0.5 MILES SOUTH ALONG THE POWERLINE ROAD. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1976)

Comment (Deposit): DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF VEINS, VEINLETS, PODS, AND FLUORSPAR CEMENTED BRECCIA IN AN EAST-WEST TRENDING FAULT ZONE. VEINS ARE UP TO 2 FT. THICK AND BRECCIA ZONES CEMENTED BY FLUORSPAR AND CONTAINING IRREGULAR VEINLETS ONE TO SIX INCHES THICK ARE UP TO 8 FT. THICK. LENSES OF ORE ARE 30 TO 50 FT. IN STRIKE LENGTH AND 40 TO 50 FT. LONG DOWN DIP. TWO UNPATENTED CLAIMS IN 1958.

Comment (Workings): WORKINGS REPORTED IN 1966 CONSISTED OF NUMEROUS OPEN CUTS, PROSPECT PITS, TRENCHES AND SHALLOW SHAFTS. ONE OPEN CUT IS ALONG STRIKE FOR 350 FT AND IS 15 FT WIDE AND 5 TO 15 FT DEEP.
