Comment (Location): LOCATION IS ACCURATE FOR THE ROMNEY (?) SHAFT LOCATED ON THE LA MADERA QUADRANGLE TOPOGRAPHIC MAP. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1979

Comment (Geology): DEPOSIT OCCURS IN THE PETACA SCHIST MEMBER OF THE ORTEGA QUARTZITE.

Comment (Deposit): DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF FIVE SUBPARALLEL DIKES. THE NORTHERNMOST IS THE LARGEST AND IS THE ONLY ONE MINED. TWO OF THE DIKES DO NOT CONTAIN QUARTZ CORES.

Comment (Workings): THE MAIN WORKINGS WERE DRIVEN FROM A 50 FT SHAFT. THE EXTENSIVE STOPES AND DRIFTS ARE DESCRIBED BY JAHNS (1946). MINOR EXPLORATORY PITS HAVE BEEN EXCAVATED IN THE SMALLER DIKES.
