Comment (Deposit): THE MANGANESE ORE OCCURRED AS CONCRETIONARY NODULES OF PYROLUSITE AND WAD. IN A FLAT BED OF SANDY SHALE. IT WAS OVERLAIN IN SEVERAL PLACES BY FEET OF SANDSTONE.
Comment (Workings): THE MANGANESE-BEARING BED WAS MINED IN AN OPENCUT WITH A BULLDOZER AND A FRONT-END LOADER.
Comment (Geology): THE CUBA MANGANESE DISTRICT IS THE ONLY LOCALITY IN THE STATE WHERE THE CONCRETIONARY MANGANESE NODULES WERE FORMED DURING OR IMMEDIATELY AFTER DEPOSITION OF THE HOST ROCK.
