About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Geology): 4 ORE BODIES in a sandstone lens in the upper unit of the lakota-fuson formations undivided, of Early Cretaceous age. Canotite and tyuyamunite are the preincipal ore minerals, and samples high in uranium are also high in selenium and arensic.
Comment (Deposit): UNDERGR.= TR. TO 1.93% U OXIDE; SURFACE= .005-.34% U OXIDE; STOPED IN 1955. OPEN CUT UNDERGROUND OPERATION
Comment (Deposit): Mining operations, both open cut and underground, by Homesake Mining Company ceased in 1955. At that time samples from underground workings varied from a trace to 1.93% U3O8; those from surface workings 0.005-0.34% U3O8. (Bull. 50, p. 212)
