Comment (Deposit): MINERALIZED ZONE LIES JUST BELOW THE LONG TRAIL SHALE MEMBER, IN THE LOWER PART OF THE 'GREAT BLUE' LIMESTONES, ON THE EASTERN FLANK OF THE OPHIR ANTICLINE. THE ORE DEPOSIT OCCURS IN OR CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH THE JASPEROID. THE JASPEROID LIES IMMEDIATELY BENEATH A SILL OF 'BIRD EYE PORPHYRY; THE ORE FOLLOWED VERY IRREGULAR, GENERALLY NORTH-EASTERLY FISSURES IN THE JASPEROID. Comment (Geology): WALLROCKS ARE HIGHLY DEFORMED AND ALTERED. LIMESTONES ARE DARK GRAY TO BLACK, DOLOMITIC AND SILICIFIED. SHALES ARE GREENISH GRAY TO BLACK, PULVERIZED, CARBONACEOUS, KAOLINITIC, SERICITIC AND SILICEOUS. EFFECTS OF LIMONITIZATION ARE VERY SIGNIFICANT ON HOSTROCKS. VEINS OF JASPEROID, QUARTZ, AND CALCITE HAVE IMPREGNATED THE WALLROCKS.
