Comment (Deposit): MINERALIZED ZONE LIES JUST BELOW THE LONG TRAIL SHALE MEMBER, IN THE LOWER PART OF THE 'GREAT BLUE' LIMESTONES, ON THE EASTERN FLANK OF THE OPHIR ANTICLINE. THE ORE DEPOSIT OCCURS IN OR CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH THE JASPEROID. THE JASPEROID LIES IMMEDIATELY BENEATH A SILL OF 'BIRD EYE PORPHYRY'. THE ORE FOLLOWED IRREGULARLY THE NORTH-EASTERLY FISSURES IN THE JASPEROID. THE ORE IS PRACTICALLY ALL OXIDIZED. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 3 FIELD OBSERV

Comment (Deposit): ORE ZONES ARE LOCALIZED IN FISSURES WITH QUARTZ FILLINGS, IN DEFORMED AND HIGHLY ALTERED WALLROCKS; ORE IS COMPLETELY OXIDIZED

Comment (Workings): ADITS AND DRIFTS; ALL CAVED AND INACCESSIBLE.

Comment (Geology): WALLROCKS ARE DEFORMED AND ALTERED. LIMESTONES ARE DARK GRAY, DOLOMITIZED AND SILICIFIED. SHALES ARE GREENISH GRAY TO BLACK, CARBONACEOUS, CALCAREOUS, KAOLINITIC, SERICITIC, AND SILICEOUS. EFFECTS OF LIMONITIZATION ARE VERY SIGNIFICANT ON HOSTROCKS. VEINS OF JASPEROID, QUARTZ AND CALCITE HAVE IMPREGNATED THE WALLROCKS.
