Comments

Comment (Location): INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1977)

Comment (Commodity): ORE IS A SOFT YELLOW SANDY OCHER

Comment (Workings): ADIT AND DRIFTS; CONNECTS WITH THE NORTHERN LIGHT AND IRON WORKINGS; CAVED AND INACCESSIBLE.

Comment (Deposit): MINERALIZED ZONE LIES JUST BELOW THE LONG TRAIL SHALE MEMBER, IN THE LOWER PART OF THE 'GREAT BLUE' LIMESTONE, ON THE EASTERN FLANK OF THE OPHIR ANTICLINE. THE ORE DEPOSIT OCCURS IN OR CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH THE JASPEROID. THE JASPEROID LIES IMMEDIATELY BENEATH A SILL OF 'BIRD'S EYE' PORPHYRY. THE ORE FOLLOWS THE NORTH-EASTERLY FISSURES IN THE JASPEROID. THE ORE IS PRACTICALLY ALL OXIDIZED. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 3 FIELD OBSERV

Comment (Deposit): MINERALIZED ZONES ARE LOCATED IN FISSURES, IN ALTERED AND SHEARED WALLROCKS; ORE IS COMPLETLY OXIDIZED

Comment (Geology): WALLROCKS ARE DEFORMED AND ALTERED. LIMESTONES ARE DARK GRAY, DOLOMITIZED AND SILICIFIED. SHALES ARE GREENISH GRAY TO BLACK, CARBONACEOUS, CALCAREOUS, KAOLINITIC, SERICITIC, AND SILICEOUS. EFFECTS OF LIMONITIZATION ARE VERY COMMON ON THE HOSTROCKS. VEINS OF QUARTZ, CALCITE, AND JASPEROID HAVE IMPREGNATED THE WALLROCKS.
