Comments

Comment (Commodity): POOR GELLING PROPERTIES, EXCESSIVE SAND CONTENT, THEREFORE LIMITED USE FOR MOST FILTER APPLICATIONS.

Comment (Development): FIRST CLAIMED IN 1941.

Comment (Workings): PITS, TRENCHES.

Comment (Geology): DIATOMITE BEDS REST ON OLDER ALLUVIUM, INCLUDING FANGLOMERATE AND MONTMORILLONITE CLAY, AND OVERLAIN BY UNCONSOLIDATED SAND.

Comment (Deposit): DIATOMITE BEDS UP TO 12 FT THICK ARE FLAT-LYING AND EXPOSED IN TWO EROSIONAL REMNANTS. THE NORTHERN EXPOSURE IS 150 FT LONG AND UP TO 60 FT WIDE. THE SOUTHERN EXPOSURE IS 200 FT LONG AND UP TO 50 FT WIDE.
