The Rho A is a boron-borates mine located in San Bernardino county, California.
About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Reserve-Resource): THE FIRST TWO FIGURES ARE ESTIMATED RESERVES BROKEN OUT BY UPPER AND LOWER ORE ZONES. THE UPPER ZONE CONTAINS A SUBZONE OF 12,000,000 ST ORE WITH A GRADE OF 17% B2O3.
Comment (Deposit): DEPOSIT IS COMPOSED OF 2 OREBODIES-- THE UPPER AND LOWER ZONES SEPARATED BY 25 TO 50 FT OF SHALE AND SANDSTONE. COLEMANITE CRYSTALS ARE DISSEMINATED THROUGH THE COLEMANITE-BEARING ZONES AND IN SEAMLETS AND BEDS AVERAGING 0.25 INCH THICK. ARSENIC MINERALS OCCUR AS DISCONTINOUS VEINS AND PATCHES IN THE ORE. UPPER ZONE: AREA = 7,200,000 SQ FT; DEPTH FROM SURFACE TO MIDDLE OF ZONE = 775-1100 FT; THICKNESS = 10-94 FT (50 FT AVERAGE); LENGTH/ WIDTH = 3000 FT X 2400 FT. LOWER ZONE: AREA = 5,400,000 SQ FT; DEPTH FROM SURFACE TO MIDDLE OF ZONE = 875-1250 FT; THICKNESS = 0-93 FT (55 FT AVERAGE); LENGTH/WIDTH= 3000 X 1800 FT. THE UPPER ZONE CONTAINS A SUBZONE WITH A GRADE OF 17% B2O3 THAT IS 790-1100 FT BELOW THE SURFACE AND 10-40 FT THICK (24.6 FT AVERAGE).
