Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: ORE LIES IN A BED OF MANGANIFEROUS METACHERT 5 TO 6 FT. THICK; STRIKING N - S AND DIPPING 65 DEG. E. THE METACHERT IS ENCLOSED IN METAVOLCANICS (IN PART GREENSTONE) AND META-TUFFS. THE META-CHERT IS MASSIVE TO BANDED, IN PART CHALCEDONIC TO OPALINE, IN PART RECRYSTALLIZED TO FIVE GRAINED QUARTZITE. THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF BLACK MANGANESE OXIDES EXPOSED IS SLIGHT; OCCURING AS BANDS AND CRUSTS IN THE META-CHERT.
