THE CHERT AND MANANESE ORE ARE ENCLOSED IN METATUFF, METAVOLCANICS, AND METABRECCIA MANGANESE ORE CONSISTS OF MANGANESE OXIDES, MOSTLY HARD, BRITTLE PSILOMELANE, BUT SOME SOFT, SOOTY PYROLUSITE ALSO PRESENT. ORE IS LOW GRADE -- RANGES FROM LESS THAN 1 TO AS MUCH AS 30% MN; ABOUT 2% FE IS PRESENT. USBM SAY OF NO ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE. SERIES OF SMALL, SHALLOW CUTS; TOTAL LENGTH ALONG THE WORKINGS IS 930'.
