Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: MOST OF THE GRAVEL IS LOOSE, ALTHOUGH THE ROOF OR TOP GRAVEL IS SLIGHTLY CEMENTED; WIDTH OF PAY GRAVEL IS ABOUT 250' WITH AVERAGE DEPTH OF 6'. THE CHANNEL GRAVEL CONSISTS MAINLY OF WHITE SCHIST, SLATE, AND FLAT QUARTZ STONES.
Comment (Production): ACTIVE 1873, EARLY 1900S, AND DURING 1932-39, IN 1934 12,000 TONS OF GRAVEL YIELDED 802 OZ. AU AND 124 OZ. AG. GOLD IS 875 FINE. 300' SHAFT; DRIFTING; BREASTING. 14 MEN EMPLOYED IN 1936.
