Analytical Data

Analytical Data: ORE GRADE 35 TO 42 PERCENT MANGANESE

Materials

Ore: Spessartite
Ore: Rhodonite

Comments

Comment (Workings): 20' SHAFT; DRIFTS RUN TO THE W FOR 12' AND TO THE E FOR 8'. ABOUT 8 OR 10 TONS OF 35-42% ORE HAVE BEEN MINED BUT NO ORE HAS BEEN SHIPPED.

Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: ORE OCCURS IN A LENS WITH EXPOSED LENGTH OF 15' AND A WIDTH OF 1'-3'; IS ENCLOSED IN QUARTZ SCHIST. WITHIN A SHORT DISTANCE OF THE SURFACE THE OXIDIZED MATERIAL PASSES INTO ONLY PARTLY OXIDIZED MANGANESE GARNET. QUARTZ IS ALWAYS PRESENT.
