Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: BED OF MASSIVE GRAY METACHERT CONTAINING POCKETS AND LENSES OF PARTLY OXIDIZED BROWN MANGANESE GARNET (SPESSARTITE); THE METACHERT IS 2-4.5' THICK AND IS EXPOSED ON THE SURFACE FOR A LENGTH OF 50'. GARNET OCCURS AS DODECAHEDRAL CRYSTALS WHICH ARE LIGHT BROWN WHEN FRESH; THEY PRODUCE A CRUMBLY, BROWNISH-BLACK, LOW -GRADE OXIDE ORE. ASSAYS QUOTED AS 29% MANGANESE AND 40% SILICA.

Comment (Workings): ONLY DEVELOPMENT IS A PIT ABOUT 4' IN DIAMETER AND 6' DEEP.
