Comments
Comment (Commodity): NO ECONOMIC VALUE
Comment (Workings): TUNNEL 10-FT. LONG AND OPEN CUTS
Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: MANGANESE OXIDES OCCUR WITHIN A MASSIVE BED 3 1/2 FEET WIDE IN DARK GREEN SLATY CHERT. CHIEFLY PSILOMELANE, WITH SOME PYROLUSITE, OCCUR AS FILMS AND VEINLETS UP TO 1/8 IN THICK ALONG FRACTURES AND TO SOME EXTENT PENETRATING THE ROCK. THE ALTITUDE OF THE MANGANIFEROUS BED IS ESSENTIALLY PARALLEL WITH SCHISTOSITY OF ENCLOSING SCHISTS. THE BED IS OVERLAIN BY YELLOW-GREEN SERICITE SCHIST; UNDERLAIN BY A BED OF DARK GREY SCHISTOSE SANDSTONE WHICH IN TURN IS UNDERLAIN BY SERICITE SCHIST SIMILAR TO THAT ABOVE.
