Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1850'S
Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: HANGING WALL IS MARIPOSA SLATE FOOTWALL IS PYROXENE ANDESITE GREENSTONE OF PROBABLE UPPER JURASSIC AGE.
Comment (Deposit): INCLUDED IN LAS MARIPOSAS GRANT. THE UPPER PART OF THE VEIN APPARENTLY CONTAINED POCKETS OF HIGHGRADE ORE FORMED BY OXIDATION AND REMOVAL OF VALUELESS SULFIDE MINERALS. THERE IS LITTLE INDICATION THAT RIGHT ORE WAS FOUND AT DEPTH BUT VEIN WAS NEVER THOROUGHLY EXPLORED BECAUSE OF THE WATER.
Comment (Location): UTM EST. BOWEN LIST CLAIM IN SEC. 23 PROBABLY MEANS SEC. 33 .

Comment (Deposit): VEIN SYSTEM IS DISCONTINUOUS AND IS MADE UP OF A SERIES OF SUBPARALLEL MEMBERS & INTERSECTING CUTTER VEINS.
Comment (Workings): ORIGINALLY WORKED FROM A SHALLOW PIT; A 150-FT. SHAFT WAS DUG IN 1908, LITTLE OR NO DEVELOPMENT SINCE.
