Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: MANGANIFEROUS MASSIVE META CHERT IS CUT BY QUARTZ VEINS, ENCLOSED IN SERICITE SCHIST, AND BELONG TO THE CALAVERAS SERIES. GENERAL STRIKE IS N. 60 W., DIPPING 75 S.W. MANGANESE OXIDES ARE DISSEMINATED THROUGH THE META CHERT, WITH HIGH GRADE ORE IN A FEW POCKETS AND LENSES, AS NODULAR, BOTRYOIDAL PSILOMELANE, SOME PYROLUSITE AND RHODONITE.
