Comment (Production): EARLY HISTORY HAS NOT BEEN RECORDED. PRINCIPAL PERIOD OF OPERATION 1933-1938. ORE RESERVES DEVELOPED AT THAT TIME WERE BELIEVED TO CONTAIN $60,000 BUT ONLY A SMALL PART WAS EVER PROCESSED. SEVERAL TONS OF ORE SHIPPED TO THE SMELTER IN 1938 YIELDED $38.50 IN SILVER AND $5.50 IN GOLD. ALL EQUIPMENT REMOVED AND THE PROPERTY WAS IDLE IN SEPTEMBER 1954.
Comment (Workings): A 240-FT. INCLINED SHAFT WITH 2 LEVELS AND APPROX. 280-FT. OF DRIFTS.
Comment (Deposit): VEIN REPORTED TO CONTAIN ARGENTITE, PROUSTITE, PYRARGYRITE, CERARGYRITE, NATIVE SILVER, PYRITE, GALENA, AND A LITTLE GOLD. ORE REMAINING ON THE DUMP IN 1954 CONTAINED PYRITE, CHALCOPYRITE, PYRARGYRITE, GALENA AND ARGENTITE. NOTE: THERE IS A PROSPECT SHOWN IN THE NW COR. OF SEC. 16, WHICH IS PROBABLY THE LOCATION OF A PORTION OF THIS MINE - U.S. GEOL. SURVEY QUAD. MARIPOSA, CALIF., 1948.
