Comments
Comment (Deposit): EC. MINERAL MAP OF CALIF., NO. 5 - MANGANESE (1943) SPOTS THIS MINE IN APPROX. SEC. 9 THIS TOWNSHIP; HOWEVER, FROM THE DESCRIPTION IN B. 152 IT WOULD APPEAR TO BE IN APPROX. SEC. 14. CLAIM IS 1 MI. FROM NOBLE ELECTRIC SHELL ROCK DEPOSIT.
Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: MASSIVE GRANULAR CHERT STAINED WITH MANGANESE OXIDE AND SOME SMALL IRREGULAR LENSES OF SILICEOUS ORE. MASSIVE CHERT IS OVERLAIN BY THIN BEDDED RADIOLARIAN CHERT WHICH PROBABLY RESTS ON SANDSTONE.
Comment (Production): NOBLE ELECTRIC STEEL CO. OPERATED PROSPECT IN 1916 AND 1917 AND REMOVED 20 TONS OF ORE WHICH WAS NEVER SHIPPED. AVERAGE SAMPLE OF ORE ON PILE ASSAYED 33.4 PERCENT MANGANESE AND 34.7 SILICA.
Comment (Workings): OPEN CUT.
