Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: EXPOSURE OF A SERIES OF SLATY AND SCHISTOSE STRATA, FREQUENTLY MICACEOUS AND CONTAINING NUMEROUS VEINS AND LENTICULAR LAYERS OF QUARTZ. ROCKS STRIKE NW AND DIP ALMOST VERTICALLY. MANGANESE IS SEEN IN MANY PLACES NEAR BASE OF THE HILL AND OCCURS IN THE FORM OF BLACK OXIDE IN THIN SEAMS FROM 1/16 TO 1/8 INCHES IN THICKNESS. IT COMMONLY FORMS A NETWORK OF THIN VEINS BUT QUANTITY OF ORE DISCOVERED IS SMALL.
