Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: MANGANESE OCCURS IN A MASSIVE BED 28 INCHES THICK, TRACEABLE FOR 20 FT. N. 45 W. ALONG STRIKE, WITH A HIGH ANGLE S. W. DIP. MASSIVE GREEN CHERT FORMS THE FOOTWALL, AND THIN-BEDDED GREEN CHERTS FORM THE HANGING WALL. THE ORE BED LENSES OUT TO THE N. E. THE UNOXIDIZED ORE IS A MIXTURE OF SILICA, PINK CARBONATE, AND LOW-GRADE MANGANESE OXIDE.
