Comment (Geology): ORE HOSTED IN FRANCISCAN COMPLEX--L. TO L. ; GEOL.DESC: ORE OCCURS IN WHITE CHERT IN 2 ZONES SEPARATED BY A GREENSTONE BODY 25 FT. THICK AND 500 FT. LONG. ORE ABOVE GREENSTONE IS MASSIVE ORE 1.5 FT. THICK, AND BELOW THE GREENSTONE IT IS DISSEMINATED ORE IN CHERT ABOUT 6 FT. THICK. STRIKE IS N. W. AND DIP IS 60 N. E. MANGANESE OCCURS AS LENSES OF MANGANIFEROUS CARBONATE. PRIMARY ORE IS A MIXTURE OF MANGANIFEROUS CHERT AND MANGANESE CARBONATE. SOME PINK RHODOCHROSITE VEINS ARE PRESENT. THE GREENSTONE BODY MAY BE A SUBMARINE FLOW.
