Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: MAIN ORE BODY IS 70 FT. LONG AND 12 FT. MAXIMUM THICKNESS. FOOTWALL IS UNEXPOSED AND THE ORE BED LIES CONFORMABLY IN THE CHERT. 3 ORE GRADES PRESENT: BULK OF ORE CONTAINS 30 PERCENT MANGANESE, 40 FT. ALONG FOOTWALL A BAND OF HIGH GRADE ORE CONTAINS 40 PERCENT MANGANESE, REMAINDER OF ORE IS HIGHLY SILICEOUS WITH LESS THAN 30 PERCENT MANGANESE. ALL ORE OCCURS AS OXIDES. ORE BODY 200 FT. E. OF MAIN OUTCROP IS 3.5 FT. THICK, AND CONFORMABLE WITH CHERT. FRANCISCAN ROCKS IN THE AREA ARE SANDSTONE, GREENSTONE AND CHERT. GENERAL STRIKE IS N. W., DIPPING 30 N. E. TO NEAR VERTICAL.
