UNDERNEATH MINE AREA IS MARIPOSA SLATE AND VOLCANIC ROCKS ASSIGNED TO AMADOR GROUP. BEDDING AND LAYERING DIP STEEPLY NE AND STRIKE NW. IN GENERAL SCHISTOSITY AND CLEVAGE ARE PARALLEL TO BEDDING. HIGHER HILLS; TERTIARY AURIFEROUS GRAVEL RESTS ON UNCONFORMITY WHICH DIPS GENTLY WESTWARD. ANOTHER GRAVEL, GENERALLY AURIFEROUS, INTERBEDDED WITH VOLCANIC ASH LIE ON BENCHES DEVELOPED ON UNWEATHERED ROCKS, LESS THAN 100 FT. ABOVE PRESENT RIVER LEVEL.

Comment (Deposit): GOSSAN FOUND ALONG OUTCROPS OF ORE BODIES CONTAIN; MALACITE, AZURITE, JAROSITE, LIMONITE AND KAOLIN. ORE BODIES LONG AXES PLUNGE STEEPLY NORTHWARD OR SOUTHWARD.
