Comment (Development): EXPLORATION FOR MO-CU OREBODIES BEGAN HERE IN THE EARLY 1970'S WHEN BEAR CREEK MINING CO. STAKED CLAIMS ON MO-BEARING VEINS OF THE CALICO MINE. IN 1973, CACHE CREEK EXPLORATION CO AND CYPRUS MINING CORP BEGAN EXPLORATION WORK, RENOVATED THE CALICO SHAFT, DID GEOLOGIC AND GEOPHYSICAL STUDIES AND DRILLED 8 HOLES. AMAX EXPLORATION CO DRILLED 2 HOLES, BOTH OF WHICH CUT PYRITIZED STRATA AND ONE OF WHICH CUT MOLYBDENITE- BEARING HORNFELS.
