Comment (Location): APPROX. N 1/2 SEC 15 (?) (UNSURVEYED AREA). 9 CLAIMS AND FRACTIONS

Comment (Development): 6 CLAIMS

Comment (Deposit): ORE DEP. OCCURS IN ROLLS BENEATH GOUGE ON A MINOR FAULT.. LOCALLY, MINOR STIBNITE ACCOMPANIES ORE.

Comment (Deposit): DISCOVERED ABOUT 1936, BY J.H. CAHILL WHO STAKED 6 CLAIMS. OWNED BY MRS. CAHILL IN 1957; UNDER LEASE TO BELCO CORP AT THAT TIME. THIS HAS BEEN THE LARGEST PRODUCER IN THE DISTRICT. IN 1937, DEVELOPMENT CONSISTED OF 3 ADITS TOTALLING 300 FEET IN LENGTH. A 10-TON ROTARY FURNACE WAS INSTALLED IN 1939, YIELDING 490 FLASKS HG IN 1940. LESSEES IN 1941 RECOVERED 55 FLASKS HG. LESSEE CORDERO MINING CO. DID SOME DEVELOPMENT WORK IN 1943 SOME ORE WAS MINED BY LESSEES IN 1944. IN 1944, DEVELOPMENT CONSISTED OF ABOUT 2000 FT OF WORKINGS, MAINLY ON 2 LEVELS 50 FT. APART. A FAIRLY CONTINUOUS ORE BODY WAS STOPED FOR ABOUT 200 FT; WIDTH ABOUT 40 FT. IN 1954, I. WALTERS LEASED THE MINE AND PRODUCED A SMALL AMOUNT OF MERCURY FROM A 12-TON ROTARY FURNACE. NORTHERN- RESOURCES CORP LEASED THE PROPERTY IN 1955 AND PROCESSED ORE -IN THE ROTARY FURNACE AS WELL AS A GOULD FURNACE ON THE HAPGOO-D MINE. BELCO PETROLEUM CO ACQUIRED THE PROPERTY FROM NORTHERN- RESOURCES AND CONTINUED MINING ORE. FROM 1960 TO

Comment (Deposit): 1967, EARL P-. RIPLEY LEASED THE PROPERTY AND PRODUCED ORE. ADVANCED MINING- INDUSTRIES, INC. LEASED THE PROPERTY IN 1969-1971 PRODUCING 3-69 FLASKS FROM ORE PROCESSED IN A ROTARY FURNACE ON THE CONCHI-TA PROPERTY. RECENT WORK HAS PRODUCED A LIMITED AMOUNT OF CINN-ABAR, MARKETED AS CINNABAR CRYSTALS, AS RECENTLY AS 1980'S. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV

Comment (Workings): MINE INCLUDES SEVERAL THOUSAND FEET OF UNDERGROUND OPENINGS DEVELOPED ON 6 LEVELS AND SEVERAL LARGE OPEN CUTS. THE- 6 ADITS ARE OPEN AND ACCESSIBLE. IN 1985, THERE WERE THE REMA-INS OF 5 WOOD CABINS ON THE SITE, REMAINS OF FURNACE ROOM WITH- FURNACE STILL PRESENT (3 FT DIAM, 25 FT LONG). POWER LINES RU-NNING INTO FURNACE ROOM STILL UP AND IN GOOD SHAPE. NUMEROUS C-UTS, STOPES,ADITS SCATTERED UP CANYON FROM FURNACE BUILDING AN-D OVER THE HILL TO SOUTH AND INTO SMALL CANYON SOUTH OF FURNAC-E BUILDING.

Comment (Geology): GEOL.COM: ORE OCCURS AS NEARLY PURE CINNABAR VEINLETS FILLING OPENINGS ALONG AND CLOSELY BENEATH THE FAULT; RICHEST ORE OCCURRED AS PODS RESULTING FROM REPLACEMENT OF HIGHLY FRACTURED SILICIFIED DOLOMITE EXTENDING SEVERAL FEET INTO THE FOOTWALL. ORE BODIES LOCALIZED WHERE FAULT "ROLLS" IN STRIKE TOWARD FOOTWALL, FORMING AN INVERTED WHICH GUIDED RISING SOLUTIONS.
