Comments

Comment (Location): N-MOST END OF HOT SPRINGS RANGE - (UNSURVEYED) AREA

Comment (Development): 15 CLAIMS

Comment (Deposit): ROCKS ARE CUT BY NUMEROUS QUARTZ VEINS AND VEINLETS. CINNABAR CRYSTALS UP TO 0.5 CM OCCUR IN THE VEINS AND FRACTUR-ES. A LARGE QUARTZ VEIN, ABOUT 0.5 M WIDE, HAS DIFFUSE BOUNDAR-IES AND ABUNDANT CINNABAR CRYSTALS DISSEMINATED THROUGHOUT THE- VEIN. THE 30-FT ADIT EXPLORES SILICIFIED LIMESTONE CUT BY NUM-EROUS QUARTZ VEINLETS. NO VISIBLE CINNABAR WAS NOTED IN THE AD-IT.

Comment (Workings): 2 SHAFTS, 6 TRENCHES; SMALL OPEN CUT, 30-FT ADIT BELOW THE CUT

Comment (Geology): GEOL.COM: SOME CINNABAR IN QUARTZ VEIN ALONG FRACTURE PARALLEL TO BEDDING. CINNABAR DISSEMINATED IN SOFT SEDIMENTARY ROCK. ORE IS LOCALIZED IN LIMESTONE AND CALCAREOUS QUARTZITE ALONG BEDDING PLANE FAULTS AND TRANSVERSE FRACTURES.

Comment (Deposit): 250-FT-LONG ADIT DRIVEN ACROSS STRIKE OF STEEPLY-DIPPING THIN-BEDDED CHERT. OWNED BY RALPH HOLT IN 1944. 4 CLAIMS DEVELOPED ALSO BY 2 SHAFTS AND 6 TRENCHES. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT
